Local-first, human-gated authorial film workflow for DeepSeek Harness.

It turns a cinematic travel-film directing workflow into a real DSH plugin: media inventory, creative direction, rough-cut deliverables, import-ready FCPXML, Resolve handoff, restrained copy/subtitles, QC and delivery records. It is intentionally not a mouse macro for Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve.

The central rule is enforced in code: a stage never advances unless a human runs /cinema continue <project-id> and the current stage has its required deliverables. Models cannot approve, skip, merge, or pre-run future stages.

Install

dsh profile install npm:dsh-cinematic-workflow

Restart or reload the DSH profile after installation. The package targets DSH 0.1.0-rc.6; Harness is a developer preview, so pin compatible versions when upgrading.

Quick start

Review the current stage. Record creative choices without moving forward:

Use /cinema status, /cinema validate, /cinema revise, and /cinema attach at any time. /cinema run queues only the current stage; it cannot advance the project.

Media and NLE integration

• The base inventory is automatic metadata collection only; it never claims to have viewed complete footage.
• Install FFmpeg/FFprobe if you want to add external contact-sheet or QC helpers in your own workflow. The plugin remains usable without it.
• cinema_build_fcpxml generates FCPXML 1.14 from a reviewed EDL. It does not import it into Final Cut Pro.
• Resolve v0.1 produces a handoff brief; you import/export in Resolve and attach the returned file with /cinema attach.
• Source media is never moved, renamed, transcoded, overwritten, or uploaded.

Privacy and provenance

Project records live in <workspace>/.dsh/cinematic/ and are intended to be gitignored. Artifact observations are labelled automatic, model-inference, human-confirmed, or unresolved. Do not publish project folders containing private absolute paths, GPS data, face metrics, or personal media.

Creative principle

Priority is: creator expression > story > audience emotion > shot language > sound > colour > editing technique > software operation. The bundled travel-authorial preset prefers first-person observation, breathing room, environmental sound and restrained copy over tourism, advertising, flashy transitions or constant music.
